Scene Calibration is one of the most important parts of the video motion analysis process. Expressing measured quantities in real-world units-- like centimeters and seconds, rather than pixels and frames-- is crucial for obtaining useful motion data from your videos. Use scene calibration to establish a coordinate system for your measurement space, whether it be a 2-D plane or a 3-D volume.

This free technical webinar will consist of a brief overview ProAnalyst 2023, a discussion about 2-D and 3-D calibration techniques, and some real-world example videos analyzed in ProAnalyst.

Topics covered will include:

  • The role of scene calibration in video motion analysis
  • Normal calibration for orthonormal measurement planes
  • Perspective calibration for skewed measurement planes
  • 3-D stereo calibration for measurement volumes

The webinar will last approximately 1 hour, with time for questions at the end. All are welcome, from new users to industry professionals, from researchers to university students, and everyone in between.
