Collection of personal information
We will always ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when you are downloading trial versions or product updates, requestiong literature, signing up for e-mail newsletters or special events, or purchasing and/or registering Xcitex products over the internet. Personal information collected by Xcitex Inc. often is limited to name, e-mail address, organization name, country, or location, but may include other information when needed to provide a service you requested.
When you purchase or license an Xcitex product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. We keep this registration information on file with any information you have already given us on previous visits to our website so that we may qualify you when/if you need technical support.
If you purchase an Xcitex software product and if you select one of our licensing options that involves locking a license to a specific computer, Xcitex may also collect certain information about your computer hardware and software. We use reputable and vetted third-party software products to manage our product licenses. To attach the license to a computer, the license manager application may collect certain information about the hardware that is installed in your computer to create a unique fingerprint of your computer. This information is then encrypted and hashed with unique random numbers to generate a unique license identification key, which is sent to you to be installed on your computer. If you purchase an Xcitex software product with a cloud-based license, Xcitex may also collect certain username and password information to verify your identity.
Xcitex Inc. also collects information about which web pages our customers visit within xcitex.com. This site visitation data is for analytics purposes and is identified only by a unique ID number, and it is never linked with personal information unless a user provides consent.
Xcitex may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Xcitex or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Xcitex and its family of websites, or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Xcitex employees, users of Xcitex products or services, or members of the public.
This web site and all Xcitex products are intended for general audiences. Xcitex does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
